For reference, which book is considered the guide for this series?

My very first "gold" coin was a California replica, purchased back in 1968.

I've never been attracted to these as a series to consider, but I do appreciate your reminder, and post. Nice token.

moxking I believe the book titled California Pioneer Fractional Gold by Breen and Gillio is. This book is out of print and rather pricey.

I know there are other older books that focus on these issues. All I know are the titles and authors from back when westcoin, others and myself were trying to compile a listing of numismatic reference books.
