I came across this coin in a collection I inherited. I've been documenting all of the coins but this is one of the few that I can't find anything about. Does anybody have any info about this coin?

Thanks!

to CCF. Looks like it might be a gas station token. With a fill up you would get a token and there was a folder with all the prez's that you would fill one token at a time. Just a thought.

it looks like a token, not an actual coin. I have moved your post to the section for Tokens.

It's definitely a commemorative from a set of US Presidents. I've come across several over the years, here's a few pictures. They all have a nickname or similar in inverted commas at the top of the reverse.

Sorry, I don't have any more info on the series.

Worth anywhere from .25 to a buck in mint condition, one finds them in the bargain bins at the LCS. I get them in the bulk buys I have posted others in a number of other threads.

I just acquired a full set up to # 36 of these in very good condition and was wondering what they were worth, nice to know that they are not worth much. I also got an almost full set of similar coins that are silver in color , possibly aluminum? (they are very light) and was wondering what they were worth or at least what where they came from. can post pictures later both sets are in very good condition.

The medals at 6:10 in this video look to be from the same series/set of medals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyhJ9RrO6Nk

You are probably right that the silver colored ones are aluminum. It is a cheap metal to use for these versus an alloy.

I did see a reference somewhere that the shell coins were made of aluminum at one point... would be interested to know if anyone can tell me the origin of the gold coins pictured? I have done some searches but could not find anything like them in any of the searches I did curious what gas station or other source produced them etc.
