What is the question?
The issue with die chips was an issue on the 1960 Small date dies, so they were replaced with the new year design of the large date. Some dies developed chips very early on the dies. Because of the need to get the large cents design going, it put a rush on the 'D' mint mark punches. Probably the big reason there are so many RPMs that year. Other years before this also had a lot of RPM, but the number this year was more than double for RPMs for 1960. (possibly because the dies were punched in haste)
Rest in Peace

Good point Richard, many masters and working dies needed made to do this. Always wondered why the prolific MM's for 60 and then possibly into 61 also. Maybe they had a MM stamper with the shakes that retired in 62?

Now to figger out why so many 2009 "get the finger" on LP2's?
Rest in Peace

I like that 6. It's kind of different.

For those who have to translate from English: 'figger' = figure
