Picked this up over the summer. It was quite grimy so I gave it a bit of Blue Ribbon coin cleaner so these are before and after pics. This going to PCGS next week so will update with their grade. I'm thinking an easy XF-40. What are your thoughts?

Nice refresh. Agree at XF40. The hair seems to show some worn off detail. Surfaces are beautiful and is PQ for the grade.

It won't straight grade. It's too easy to see the high point lightening from the cleaning.

Attractive VF35-XF40, fairly well struck, but the marks to the left of the eyes/nose are a distraction. I predict TPG XF details / environmental damage.
Blue Ribbon is excellent, although nearly unavailable without paying through the nose; Verdi-Care is a decent second line approach to conservation but it works about 3/4 as well as Blue Ribbon on the heavy coppers. The after pictures show a marked improvement in eye appeal and surface preservation.

The "after" version of the coin kinda looks like Al Pacino.

I think it will come back as cleaned also. Hope I'm wrong. Still a nice coin.

EF-40. If the last pic is accurate, then I'd give it less than a 50/50 chance of getting a straight grade.
