I know ... its still in the 2X2.

I am wondering what kind of value to assign to this? A friend of mine is selling. The luster, is blazing on this one despite the pics.

I am thinking MS grade as I see no wear on it in hand. Assuming a MS61 or 62?

What do people usually take off the price for spots like this?

Is it the spotting that knocks it down to AU? Would it otherwise have MS details?

No. The easiest way to see rub from circulation is on the open fields on the reverse, above the eye on the obverse, and the hair detail above the cheek.

Those areas to show circulation.

The spots are worse than toning. They appear to have eaten into the surface.

I'm afraid I'd be at AU, details, environmental damage.

That's too bad. I think that it would severely affect the grade and value. It's so unattractive I'd steer clear of it.

Thanks everyone for the help and description.

Moxking, I can now see what you are talking about now and appreciate your educating me. I knew it would not be worth much due to the damage, but needed more opinions so I was not relying on just my own (limited) knowledge.

Agree AU details. I'd be seriously tempted to try a "mini-dip" here using a Q-tip and solution, starting along the edge to see how the discoloring reacts. What's to lose?

I wouldn't be surprised if it got body bagged.

This is dip-worthy, but take it carefully with confined dabs and rinsing.

Really? I thought body bags were only for "unidentifiable" and "questionable authenticity" nowadays.
