This is a bit of a strange one for me.

Weight is correct.
It is likely silver.
DIAMETER is a little too large, and THICKNESS is a little too thin. Also has massive rims.

Doesn't look like a modern one to me, as it was rescued from a 1940's~ mount and the fonts are correct.

I've read some of swamperbobs posts on them, but can't seem to identify the origin of the forgery.

Sorry I don't know how to quote you on here.

It's larger and thinner than all the other 8R's that I have, and larger and thinner than my GB crowns. So whilst it has the same total volume, it seems different. (I don't have a digital microscope yet so can't give exact measurements) - If you stack it on top of the others, you see the size difference.

Am I wrong that they should be around 38mm?

Here it is with an 1808 stacked on it. (You can't see depth very well, but it is a little thinner)
