i have searched literally 50,000 half dollars form the bank in the last 10 plus years, this is the first clipped one I have found..   |

I agree that it's a legitimate clip. I can clearly see the tapered rims and Blakesley Effect.  As far as value, the market is difficult to gauge. I would guess at least a few dollars. Clipped nickel 50c are even more scarce than clipped nickel dollars, in my opinion. That is also a straight clip, which are generally scarcer than crescent clips. To the right collector, you should get at least CAN $35 for that coin.

I would say $10 for a straight clip o a cent. For a half dollar lots more I would think. I would offer on ebay for a $50 start. I suspect you get the price if you are patient. |
