Hey, guys I'm new to this coin collecting, you guys seem to know what your talking about. I found a 1989P dine missing part of the E on reverse side, looks like I only found one similar online that previously sold for 25.00. Just wanted to get your opinion on rarity and worth. The reason the weak E is that the Obverse is a MAD, misaligned die. This puts more pressure to were the LIBERTY is less opposite there, which on reverse is where E is at, causing it to be a weak imprinting. Not an error coin worth any money. What you saw for sale may have been an off center strike which is wholly different.

It's the reverse side thats missing part of the E on the word Dime, identical to the one pictured at the bottom for 25.00

No need to ever buy that type of coin. Search enough dimes and you will find one. Just because a coin is somewhat less than ideal does not make it an error coin. I keep a jar of misaligned die coins. I think it's fun to find them.

Forgot that! Just because an uniformed idiotbuyer paid money for a coin that isn't what the smuck seller said it was, don't make it a viable coin of worth. As the great philosopher of the 19th century P.T. Barnum said, "There's a born every minute!"

Probably an issue with a Grease Filled Die in that area. Worth what it says on the reverse....

I agree that it's not a keeper and has no premium value. Keep searching!
