Ive been looking through quite a few rolls tonight so wasn't sure if tunnel vision had officially taken its toll. Even though I can't capture everything in one shot, I tried...sorry. Lincoln has doubling I believe and there is quite a bit of notching to go around on the Reverse. Could be wrong of course.

Late state Die Deterioration. Notice how the letters are really close to rim and wide, stretched looking. Die flow moves metal outwards. The notch o S bottom is just die deteropioration effects. Give your eyes a break!

Not saying you are wrong and yes putting coins down for the moment lol! If you look at the 82 DDR it seems to have that stretching look towards the rim as well. One of the many reasons Zinc Lincoln's bring me to the edge of insanity...but then I remember that cents also buy Tylenol

Also, I was going to add that a notched serif would mean that it is proper doubling even if Die Deterioration is present. But my pics aren't exactly National Geographic material either...

John I was just waiting to see one of my pics on there, as I was scrolling through the wall of false double die shame lol! Nice link though! Ill have to step back and revisit the coin in a few. To me, the characters look crisp instead of chewed up bubble gum clinging to numbers, letters, etc.

I recommend reading all of the examples in that link from top to bottom. Read it more than once if you need to. It will save you a lot of time in the future.
