Excellent strike, fully separated stars on obv and good detail on left ear of corn on rev. Without bigger pics, I do not want to take the grade too high so I will call it MS64 with superior eye appeal

I think this is a beautiful example of the Liberty nickel. Great eye appeal, excellent strike. Congratulations.

Beauty. The only things that would make me hesitate to say MS65 are the lines between the stars on the obverse and possibly a blemish on Liberty's cheek. Hard to tell from these photos how significant either is.

groganking, The line your seeing between the stars is a die crack. This coin has a few of them. The area on the cheek that looks to be a blemish is on the NGC slab.I know its hard to tell without bigger pics. Liberty nickels are not one of my specialties. In fact,I just started getting into them.I thought this one had a strong strike from the many I have looked at,and it was the first year of issue.

Thanks for all who took a stab at grading this coin.It is in fact graded NGC MS66. I should have it in my hot little hands next week. I will take some better pics & post them.

Congratulations TLS5933! I have one close to that. The lower left two stars and the lower right three stars on mine are worn smooth, the others aren't as sharp as yours, a trace of wear? I was thinking mine might push MS 62? Did you buy it, then have it graded? Congratulations again on a beautiful coin!

John, Thanks. No,when I bought it,it was already graded. The lower left stars and the lower left leaves on this type coin seem to be the weakness areas.I have seen MS66,MS67 PCGS,NGC graded coins with this weakness. So you can never tell what they will grade.Maybe you should have yours graded. I was lucky to find this one with a good strike & for a fair price.

Nice coin John.Typical one side weak strike.Have you thought about having it graded? Might be higher than you think. Heres one on ebay and its also listed NGC MS66
