Just playing around in Photoshop, and I put together these somewhat educational displays for my Colonials. Still have to do one for the Fugio and the Nova Constallatio, but these will do for now. What do you think?

That's pretty cool, man. Keep working on it and you might be able to sell it to other collectors. I like that it has each state's shape in the background. Nice presentation! I would tinker with different colors. Not a fan of that shade of green.

These are the kind of things we need more of. I had no idea that Massachusetts was losing money coining money!

This looks great! I'd be interested to see what you come up with for other states.

Very nice idea and quite informative. Nice examples of Colonials too. Thanks, you could use this idea for world coins too.

Quote: This looks great! I'd be interested to see what you come up with for other states. Considering these were the only states that struck coins themselves that is about it. He could do Vermont but it was a country at the time it struck coins not a state. Then there is Virginia but their coins were struck in England.

Wow, thanks everyone for the kind words! I'm not overly fond of the background color, but it was done at 4 am, and well.... I do like the info I was able to glean on the Massachusetts. I can do something with the CT and NJ, but I'll have to paraphrase about 2 pages to do it. This was the first one I did, and wanted to do the others in similar fashion, but I couldn't find the same maps for the other states;

Would be a great attraction at a coin store or show.

Really great work. Enough to inform with all of the key information.
Very impressive. I would bet those collectors without your skills would be happy to have some of their coins done as you have presented yours.

An outstanding presentation. Well done & bravo! I hope to see more (New York, Vermont, etc.) soon.
The only thing I would add is that if you DO decide to make a book, brochure, coin show display, etc. please make sure you cite all of your sources for any non-original research in a bibliography. That way, people who are interested in learning more about our early pre-Federal coinage will have a ready list of materials and authors to dive into.
If you do further colonials, in this style, please post them here. :)

Very attractive display. You might consider doing a display at a show. It can be very rewarding and get you some notoriety in the process.
