A couple of weeks ago I found this silver denarius in a cherry farmers field. 'till this far. 1 of my finest of this type.
Obv: temple/ XPISTIANA RELIGIO
Rev: cross with 4 pearls in a wreath/+ HLVDOVVICVS IMP
Materiaal: zilver
D(mm): 19
W (gr): 1,27 gram

Just curious, for every gem like this one, how many extremely low grade/cull examples do you typically find?

that's a good question. Normaly in a year +/- 600 coins. mostly Dutch copper "duiten". I believe these kind of coins were also used in early colonial America. Sometimes Roman imperial coins & fragments of medieval & later coins.
