1985 D Lincoln Cent Struck Through Grease Missing L In Liberty "iberty"

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 74662 Posts	Posted 10/13/2017 9:41 pm I found this in a circulated roll from a bank box of U.S Pennies. It's a minor one and don't usually keep them unless completely missing one or more letters. I kept this because of how unusual it is. It's completely missing the L in Liberty making it say "iberty" It's a keeper in my book, maybe not in everyone's book. Still a good one in my opinion. Errers and Varietys. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/14/2017 1:39 pm More of an issue of Die Deterioration. The die was polished off and the Ridge Ring filled in the space. Pretty much a spender to me. There were probably hundreds of thousands struck after the coin was struck. They didn't retire the die at that point. Just kept on using it.
