This not one of my area of knowledge, other than I own one as a type example.
At first I thought all those lines might be die cracks, and a few are.
Unless this is a special variety, the graffiti would prevent me from getting this one.

1.Looks like someone had a go at cutting it in half with a knife or something. See the way the cuts go through the 1st A of Peruana. IMHO Vertical lines on both sides caused in this fashion. 2. Something else going on, maybe a faulty planchet prior to stike.

Clearly a die clash. You can see the base of the "statue" under the UAN of Peruana and the N under the dot and much more. I am not sure about the crazy vertical scratches

(Another) coin that's been ruinously polished... though with those scratches, not sure it matters.
Interesting die clash, anyway.

@ realeswatcher Quote: (Another) coin that's been ruinously polished. There is a very large difference, in the results, between polishing and submerging in acetone.

@ realeswatcher Please look at the coin very carefully . For the only reason the coin appearance looks clean ,does not mean it was polished.

WADR- bringing a proof from an NNC slab against RealesWatcher's claim is wholly insufficient. I agree that the 8R looks clean, not because it is "clean" but because the color and sheen is typical of a cleaning. If the Denar looks the same in hand, then it is probably cleaned as well - regardless of what NNC says.

For the love of all that is good and holy, do yourself a favor and don't ever, ever, ever use one of those holders as an example of proper surfaces. Referring to this thread (and many others you've posted have looked similar): http://goccf.com/t/297936It appears you're buying a lot of coins which had been previously polished/buffed/wiped that have sort of artificially "darkened" some with some "thumbing"-type toning, color from cigarette smoke, etc.... The acetone will strip this right off (as is to be expected). ****** I'll interject here, as this is something I've come to learn more and more - Which is part of the reason one should be careful what one uses acetone on! Either that or someone is mixing Brasso into your acetone when no one is looking. Probably mostly the first guess, maybe, I think.
