Hi Denny7000,
I just had eye surgery today and am viewing your coin with blurry vision from only one eye.
Please weigh your coin as I believe it to be a regular penny that was stretched.

Darryldarryl hope your surgery was a success. The third pic shows the coin side by side with another 1983 and it is slightly smaller in diameter. Coin weighs 1.47gr

Hi denny7000,

Unfortunately it wasn't that successful. Have to go back for more surgery.
Congrats on your find. I didnt pick up on the weight mentioned above.

Good luck with the eye surgery, something like sight we shouldn't take for granted.

Looks a little like a Dryer Coin. That would cause the rim to be wider and the coin to be slightly smaller.

Unless I'm mistaken, the coin in question is thinner and narrower in diameter than a normal coin while being significantly underweight, as well.

A Dryer Coin can account for smaller diameter but, not a thinner edge and lower weight. I dont know on this one because it almost looks broadstruck while being thinner and lighter.

Maybe more pics are in order? How about obverse and reverse comparison pics straight on with a normal cent?

with the lack of beads on both sides, as well as the almost undistinguishable hexatangular (?) edging this coin looks to me to be on a foreign planchet, or perhaps a undersized one?

this is definalty not a Dryer Coin

I am impressed!! Most coins from the 1980s struck on thin planchets are not struck so well in the devices...

Here are a couple pics next to another 1983. It is far bead non-magnetic.
