Is this 1914 D worth the asking price of this seller? 200 dollars? About what grade you guys think I am thinking like AUG 58 it also looks to have a die chip on reverse. *** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

I've seen that bump on the left wheat ear mentioned as an indicator of counterfeit Lincoln wheat cents in many posts on this site.

@Mrzllewellyn, looks like you are developing a bit of an eye for this. Very good! Also, if this is an ebay listing, please counterpost the info on CCF's forum for counterfeit ebay listings: http://goccf.com/f/160

The rim edge on fields, lettering, MM placement, Rev Known Die chips I'll tell the seller to give ME $200 to take it off his hands!

MM position (virtually touching the 9) is way off. Fake.

While you shop for a 1914-d Lincoln Cent consider getting one that matches a genuine obverse date/mintmark pattern - below are the olny valid dies. This will eliminate low quality counterfeits and 1944-d cents altered to 1914-d.

Some sources show six dies, but I think one may be a repeat. This date is notable for the consistency of the MM punching, with only the uptilt of #2 offering a quick clue.

The mintmark is in the wrong position for a 1914-D and characteristic die chip on left wheatstock right above united indicative of a Chinese made counterfeit.
