Found this very nice 1909 v.d.b in one of my childhood coin boxes I had started 20+ years ago that I recently found. The picture doesn't do it justice as it has very nice toning and great eye appeal. However in light of new discoveries in MPLs it has me wondering if this is one. I'm open to all opinions. Thanks. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

All Lincoln cents are considered Modern, so I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention. And here is the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images.

As was explained on the NGC forums it can't be a proof because there was only one rev die used for proofs, and the dot between the D and B proves that this isn't that die.

Very nice VDB business strike! However, I've seen better impersonations of a matte proof. Nonetheless, it appears to around MS-65 - still valuable.

Coming from one of the only guys in modern times to actually find a raw 1909 VDB matte proof in the wild, almost exactly 1 year ago to the day, I can tell you that I'm not seeing any of the diagnostics and the rims aren't square. Sorry. Nice coin though
