I have this 1863 Washington Token and I cannot find one like it anywhere online. It has the United States Shield surrounded by a 6 pointed star on the reverse. Help please?

Sounds like a Civil War token, of which there are many thousands of varieties .... pics needed. Also, what metal is it - copper?
