Can anyone recommend a good coin shop in Las Vegas or Henderson?

No, but don't spend all your silver. Have fun.

I would go check out that Pawn Stars shop that's on TV.

Aren't the Casino's themselves one massive coin shop

I would also go metal detect in the desert. Maybe you'll find, some gangsters buried loot.

I would go to the Pawn Stars pawn shop only out of curiosity, not for coins. There are probably 100 pawn shops in Vegas to cater to gamblers that need money. It is possible that some of them might have coins that they want to sell at less than inflated prices.

The vast majority of casinos do not use coins any longer. There are a scant few left, but the coins in them are generally worn down from constant recycling through the slot machines.

Unless you are driving, taking a metal detector with you can be a hassle. Las Vegas is so big now, the "desert" won't be anywhere close. You are more likely to dig up a buried gangster than any lost gangster loot.

Oh how I miss the days of Vegas slots using coins. Even in the early 90's I could run a $100 bill into a .50 slot, hit the payout button and find a 40% silver half. I even ran across a few 90%ers.

Today - nope, nada. Everything is paper printouts. There are as mentioned, a scant few coin machines in some of the older places, but beginning in the early 2000's, those really dried up quick.

Coin shops - there used to be a good coin shop in Henderson, NV - just a suburb of Vegas, but I can't remember the name of it right now, and it's been 10-12 yrs since I was there.
Rest in Peace

I don't know any coin shops there -- but if you're driving around at all -- anywhere -- take a couple of gallons of water with you.

I highly recommend a drive out to see the petroglyphs. If you do that, take even more water.

Have fun!
