This 20 cent I almost tossed because it was so damaged. On further inspection it appears to be an error.
Reverse on the obverse in mirror image. Rim shows signs of three separate strikes.
There is blobs all over it as well as areas that look to be part of the design but I don't recognize.
Any help with this type of error and how it can occur would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Very intriguing.
I cannot fathom how this may have happened at the mint, but would love to hear some theories.

If it's mirror image, it's likely glue or a vise job.

Is the part of the zero on the obverse raised?

@Ruby4321, I would soak the coin in acetone to see if this is just dried glue.

Likelihood of it being a real error is approx .00000001%

Hello. Thanks for the replies.

I didn't know gluing coins was a 'thing'. Made me have a closer look. Is acetone OK to soak coins in?

@Coaster - The zero is not raised. Never noticed until you said that. Seems like an obvious thing to look for now.

vise job as scstrawn said.

Yes, providing it's the 100% pure Acetone from somewhere like Bunnings. Definitely NOT Nail Polish remover type though!
