Hi everyone, I have never seen a coin such as this one and cant find any information on what kind of error this coin has. At first I thought it was just ink, and we have performed multiple tests to confirm that it is not ink. Please someone help me identify this error and how much you think it is worth. I love this coin, probably the coolest coin I have! THANKS!

first of all. It is an altered coin, not an Error Coin of any value. That is staining of some sort. The design indicate the expansion of air bubbles. I suspect something liquid, soap, dye, paint, with a corrosive ability was heated and cooked off the air. Neat effect, but not an error of worth. I'll be adding it to my library of garage jobs!

Looks like someone took an eyedropper with something acidic and decorated that cent. It's most apparent on the portrait just below the ear. Still -- if you like it -- enjoy!

to CCF. Looks like some kind of an acidic bubble was on it. Not an error. Damage of some kind. It looks etched into the copper plating. Have you tried dipping it in 100% pure acetone? John1

Did you check the reverse to see if it's a Wide AM?

I'd guess Goo-Gone would get that off.

It may of had something on the coin. When it wore off, then the surface was stained underneath that area. (note area to the east of the mouth)
