That said, it looks like someone took an ice pick to the Lincoln Memorial. You can see the flattened area on his cheek on the obv. Edit: Sorry, but I just noticed that this was your first post. Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 11/04/2017 8:04 pm The coin is 95% copper and copper does change color over time. I don't see why it wouldn't change color if it was an error coin as opposed to a damaged coin. People do weird stuff to coins and sadly that's what happened to yours. No harm in asking.
