Hard to tell from your pics. I recommend taking out of the 2x2 before photographing. That said, it looks like someone took an ice pick to the Lincoln Memorial. You can see the flattened area on his cheek on the obv.

If it wasn't done by something on the die, wouldn't it be discolored

The coin is 95% copper and copper does change color over time.
I don't see why it wouldn't change color if it was an error coin as opposed to a damaged coin.

People do weird stuff to coins and sadly that's what happened to yours. No harm in asking. Glad to have you here.
