Hi everyone:
I'm looking for a reputable coin dealer in the Kingston to Ottawa
area.
Looks like the the dealer in my area has closed up shop.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here are 3, one of which is a little further North - in Gatineau - but well worth the extra drive.

Also In Ottawa there is a coin show that usually takes place every second Sunday of the month at the RA Centre (usually in the Canada room but occasionally in the other wing).

November 12th may be slow as it coincides with Nuphilex which will be taking place in Montreal.

Two of my favourite shops:

The Coin Hunter in Brockville is worth it if you are into world coins, US coins and certified Canadian coins (and Paul is one of the few Canadian dealers I know whom is active here on CCF).

Alliance Coin & Banknote in Almonte, outside of Ottawa, has probably one of the nicest coin stores east of Toronto. Sean Isaacs is not only a dealer but a numismatist - he is well versed in World and Canadian coins, and is the former editor of Canadian Coin News Trends.

Thanks guys , that's very helpful.
The only ones around here who (they say) deal with coins are pawn shops.

I feel for you. During the last year I made a few offers on low value coins in pawn shops... offers that I thought were extremely reasonable and in all cases I was told that ''employees had no knowledge of coins so I would have to wait until the boss comes back on __''. However, they were fully negotiable on everything else in the store, from video games to tires to specialized tools.

As mentioned by SPP, Alliance Coin & Banknote in Almonte is a must that was missing from my initial list. If you happen to go to Almonte, I would recommend taking the time to visit the shops on Mill street: http://almonte.com/about-almonte/shopping/ and having a walk along the river. Nice views, especially during winter. Good food too.

Now I need to plan a visit to the Coin Hunter in Brockville. Never been there... so far!

For the sake of not plugging my own store. Here in Brockville we have Canada's first Railway Tunnel...And it's pretty darn cool. http://www.brockvillerailwaytunnel.com/ Of course feel free to visit the store while in town. As far as Kingston, there is a very nice gentleman that operates at a flea market Wed through Sun. His name is Fred (Klassic Koins) and he is at the flea market (I do not recall the address) where Princess meets Bath (across from Canadian Tire) in Kingston. There is also a gentleman that used to work at Mcyntyre's and he and his wife do operate at one of the flea markets in Kingston on weekends. Last but not least, you can always contact Trevor Beresford who is active in the Kingston Coin Club and holds a small show every year in the spring at the Electronics Museum.
