I bought this recently, why? Good question .
I didn't see any of its "features" until after
a quick acetone bath , q-tip and a thorn .
The under lying condition was a bit of a shock.
The dark spots are actually polished coin surface

Another " what a shame" to add to the others
I have .
And lastly , is this a partial clip?

It looks more like damage than a small clip.

All of that material being pushed down in between each of the affected denticles kind of gives that PMD away,

..don't you think..?

Devlec , I don't know the exact process that causes a clip
but I have a clearer idea now . I imagined that the pushed
material was a left over of a improper clip. Thx

And I just noticed now that the 5th pic should have
an above shot of the area in question .
Here it is anyways

am I the only one who is guessing that the acetone bath probably took all of the coin's character?

I love these first year Canadian coins... but can't afford to buy them...

All the acetone did was remove the dirt , this was already on the coin. To me it looks
environmental that a rescue was attempted (harshly) and failed. There isn't
a lot of wear on it (at least whats possible to see)
