Of all the 50 States and ATB Quarter designs, the Effigy Mounds is the worst. The lack of realistic perspective in the design is confusing and unattractive.

My only other complaint is the current Jefferson nickel obverse. Under certain lighting, it's creepy. Somehow, the eyes are illuminated when the rest of his face is dark.

I don't like any of the shield cents . It was bad enough when they changed it from wheat cents to Memorials . but the shield cents annoy the heck out of me . Trash ,garbage ,
junk .

Another vote for Shield cents. And yes, that Effigy Mound quarter is a terrible design.

Most of the State Quarters were boring and uninspired, in retrospect. I appreciate the majority of the ATB series, but I agree some are just not pleasing to look at.

2006 nickels are awful, as are most portraits on the Prez $.

I assume this is open for all of numismatics too?

I just plain don't like the overwhelming majority of Euro designs. Actually, except for Italy, Europe had precious few good or inspiring designs between 1946-2001.

I agree with the shield cents, can't stand them and even worse in a few years they will disintegrate on you! I think it was an Australian coin with the platypus on the reverse. Not a big fan of that one either!

My vote goes to the Wyoming State Quarter.

I can't stand the Presidential dollars.

They looked like tokens from a gas station that I had back in the 1980's with the presidents obverse on the tokens.

I've always really disliked the brass Belgian 5 Franc coin that was first issued in 1986. I think it looks like the kind of token you get in a carwash or in an amusement arcade. I think Belgium must be the only country whose coin designs improved when they adopted the Euro!
