1988 "P" Quarter W/Barely Visible Mintmark

Hi all! I have a 1988 "P" Quarter, but the P is barely there. I'm simply a hobbyist and not a heavily experienced one at that so pls hang in there with me! I have included 2 obverse pics - 1 with flash and 1 without, just to help show that it's not simply camera manipulation. I also include a reverse pic just in case. Pls tell me if this is some sort of common grease/die type of thing, or if it is a (most unlikely but hopefully) a mint recognized error. Thank you!

The mintmark seems consistent with the wear, although there might have been a slightly grease-filled die.

The 'I' from IN and the first 'T' in TRUST looks like a combination of a grease-filled die and a nasty hit.

I can definitely see what you mean about the MM, though. It seems to have disappeared in the first pic.
