Due to personal reasons, I've been gone from here for several months. I've still been hunting though. I've found all sorts of good stuff over that time... which I will post about real soon... And today, it finally happened. A 1950 popped out of a roll from the Brinks box I got yesterday... flipped it over and to my absolute shock the D was there this time! With this coin, I've now found EVERY regular issue US nickel from 1934 through date in circulation. CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Thanks, jbuck and Mark1959! I can't believe I finally found one in a roll. The box started very uneventfully... only a lone 1959-D amongst the first 6 rolls. 16th roll in, boom!

Here was the scene as I actually found it in a roll and turned it over to find the D there!

Thanks, oih82w8!
My second 1950-D ever, first in 31 years!
I finally got my stuff together and looked through the rest of the roll. There was also a nice AU 1958 Philly in it.

Quote: I've found all sorts of good stuff over that time... which I will post about real soon As I said in the other post, welcome back! Great find. I'm afraid to ask...what's this year's V-nickel total? I was trying to catch up to you with your great start earlier this year. I'm still looking for the 38-S for my Jefferson set.

I'm still looking for the 38-S for my Jefferson set. Well, I will have to get back to you on that, my friend. I haven't totaled my finds in several months, and I don't remember finding many Vs over that time - maybe one? I have found some hoards - For example, 10 days ago I found a hoard of two rolls of 1939-1958D nickels which included a 1939-S. I even found a 1966 SMS last week! I've found some really really crazy stuff. Will be slowly posting it as I catch up. And keep plugging with that 1938-S. They're out there. I think I am at 6 or 7 of those now.

Thanks, coinfrog and moxking. Still in shock! I just keep smiling. LOL. That box also had a Choice BU 1949-D, an AU 1958, and a 1948-S (still have 10 rolls left to go)
I've lost count of how many coins I went through to find it. I am going to do my totals this weekend to find out what the exact breakdown was through this box.

Congrats on that 50-D Nickel find in the wild . Not an easy Jeff to find, especially in 2017 .
