My Son and I started coin roll hunting during his Christmas break. Here are pics of some of what we have found. We do pennies also, but did not lay those out for the pics.

I currently have a setup with a bank I do alot of biz at. They are ordering me 2 boxes of halves a week, and we usually get a couple other boxes.

We've done 15 boxes of Halves and found approx:
8 90%ers
35 40%ers
3 rolls of NIFC
4 1987 Halves.

Nickels (about 7 boxes):
a few 2009's
About 10 Silver War Nickels
A few rolls of 30's-50's Jeffersons

About 10 boxes of Pennies:
about 10 wheats a box.
Not much else. We are saving nice 2009's.

Dimes:
2 silvers out of about 4 boxes. Book is full.

Quarters:
4 boxes, no silver. We still have some newer ones we need in our book.

We have done some quarters and dimes, but have gotten to where we like nickels, pennies, and halves. Halves and Nickels seem to have around 1 silver a box and pennies are cheap and fun.

So far I'm very happy with the silver content. Everything in the pics that's on the carpet is silver.

I am still waiting to find any what I'd call "old designs" like Mercs, Bennies, Walking Liberties, Indian Heads. I see you guys post that stuff, be we have yet to find any. But the silver is good, so We're happy. I'd like to find some older designed stuff just for my sons excitement.

Oh, also in the pics, you'll see some full boxes and unopened rolls. Those are boxes we are saving for a mega hunt. We plan on saving 15 boxes of halves, and 5 of both pennies and Nickels. And maybe a few other random boxes. We are going to save 2 boxes a week until summer! The unopened rolls are our enders.

Thanks for looking!

Great additions to your silver stash and so nice to see the next generation of numismatists getting his start!

I wrote:
35 90%ers
8 40%ers.

Its actually the other way around.
35 40%ers
8 90%ers

i fixed the original post

Yes its hard not to open the stash boxes, but it will be worth it. Plus we still open a couple boxes a week so that helps :)

Can someone tell me how to reply to someone with a quote with the box around it?

You use the quote tag. Just use [ quote ] Insert quote here [ / quote ] without the spaces.

Example:

I'd say the time spent with your son is the prime beef and the rest is gravy (good gravy). Have fun on the hunt!
Rest in Peace

Two methods:
1. When you respond, hit the button on the bottom right that says "Switch to Full Reply". Then highlight the specific text that is a quote by left clicking on it and sweeping. When it is highlighted, click little button up above that looks like a sheet of paper with a red arrow (it is almost at the end of the Format line of buttons).
2. Either in Quick Reply or Full Reply, literally type in the keystrokes [quote] before and after the text that is a quote.
