The "?" That you have might be a tiny lam error.

RoyCoinBoy Quote: The "?" That you have might be a tiny lam error. That's what I would call it but some folks on here who know a lot more than me said a lam goes in a straight line. Seems to have lots of variations on the '64's. Most of them I pass up as MD. Thanks to you both.

A coin struck with a terminal die state die like this coin can be a lot of fun to look at ! Thanks for sharing . As far as a lam going in a strait line , well , that's basically true. The internal structure of the coin metal was made linear by the rolling mill and when this metal separates for one reason or another it will want to follow these lines. That said , lams have to start somewhere and that somewhere isn't necessarily linear. Here is a pic of a small foldover lam on my 1928P-1DO-001 Lincoln. You can see that the lam is starting to round over where it is still attached

Quote: That is the MM I mentioned in one of your recent posts Yes I remember, yet again I have seen more MD on Silver dimes and Quarters than the actual RPM, and I know it is a pain to get a real close up of the Dime's MM, but it is always fun to explore it, you'll never know, can be cleaned out with a tip of a wet tooth pick for a good close up shot.

Fun coin. I spotted another die crack in the oak leaves around 3 o'clock. Maybe it's just scratched.

Thanks Buddy and good eye. I had seen it but forgot to mark it when doing the photos. There is another I did not mark just above the upper band coming off the right side of the torch. It is small and difficult to see in the photo because of the camera I am using.

Oh yeah, I see it now. It is tiny. Your camera is fine -- I just didn't notice it before. Fun find.
