This was the first gold coin I ever bought. I don't do gold, and I shouldn't have bought this, but that's in the past. I still know nothing about gold, but all my gold purchases after this were slabbed, so I learned a little.

What would you grade this? Thanks!

Tough call without the coin in hand, but reverse field marks suggest AU-58+.

I'll take a stab at 60 because there seems like there might be broken up luster in hand on the Obv but I really can't tell from photos. The reverse looks a funny though.

Looks mint state to me, but the many contact marks and hairlines limit it to probably MS-60 or 61. The hairlines on the reverse are obvious in the photo but in-hand are probably not that bad.

Perfectly decent type coin but not worth paying to get it graded, unless you want authentication. In that case ANACS would be the way to go.
