Bought this in a PCI holder labeled AU55. Cracked it out because I thought it was undergraded.

Always tough to confirm without piece in hand, but it certainly looks better than 55 - perhaps mid-MS Brown.

I like the full diamonds and the original red in the protected areas. Not a fan of the feather tip as they are not fully struck. AU-58BN at least.

I agree with the slight rub on the shield. Shame, it looks ms63-64bn otherwise, but may be limited to AU58. It is a beautiful coin with really nice surfaces. really choice!

I'd say MS 63. The 'rub' on shield can be related to how well it was struck, not necessarily circulation wear. The leaves and ribbon on reverse look to be in great shape, which are the high spots.

I see wear on the lower curls and the ribbon on the wreath. I think the feather tips are what turned PCI to a 55. If it's just a weak strike, then I'd say 58.

i think it saw some very light circulation also but its a beautiful piece and better than 55. AU58+

There is light wear on the ribbon, lower hair, lower part of the wreath and on the shield. Looks like original toning progression from RB to BN. Strike is a bit on the soft side. I think AU55 or AU58 would both be acceptable grades, the difference being a matter of one's preference on the color and strike. Overall, to me, the strong eye appeal pulls it up to a 58.
