I don't want to sell this set outside of the US.
These sets when sold in the UK get around $400 give or take.
I would probably sell it to a member here in good standing from just about anywhere but on ebay where it has bounced around for quite some time will not sell at almost half that with my US sales only.

At this time, I am only looking for advice and not posting in our BST section.
Since this set was never opened and remains in the sealed plastic/cello like envelope, I am using these images I worked with permission to use in my ebay listing and made this little collage.

My question is ...
Would I maybe be better off opening the set and offering to sell the three blank planchets ( actually 4 ) in one lot and the actual Trial Coin by itself?

You can click on the ebay link above in my bar to see the only item I am selling at this time for other images. Thanks for your advice.

Cracking it and selling separately may get a few takers, but the whole purpose of marketed trial set is lost. That was a niche market to begin with in UK, whoever had it(hope not you) to begin with will take a depreciation loss, (like buying a new car) on resale. It's not a Lamborghini, it's a AMC Pacer, had its place but resale sucked! If you just want to unload it, recoup the "whatever you can", hopefully your cost, then you probably do need to break it up. That's one of those "ouchies", I get tired of messing with it eventually and basically just give it away at loss, just to clear the shelves!

Actually these sell really well compared to issue price - one of the few Royal Mint products to go up in value!

Well peter1234 ....
I didn't buy it, I inherited it and I don't think your advice is very helpful for my trying to sell it, nor do I appreciate you knocking my coin set and calling it that.

BTW ... I did not relist it after it ended so I will ask to have this topic archived. Thanks to those who had some positive input.
