I have noticed similar looking coins on these forums which looked almost like spiraled circles in the middle of the coin which were chalked up to PMD but not much explanation on why. The middle of the reverse side of this coin has something going on in the middle but I am not sure what. Any insight on what it might be even though I am sure its just PMD would be great.

has been stated it is Machine Damage...which machine, good guess is in order. I would venture a vending machine or a large scale coin sorter with a flywheel size separator. The ejector plunger may be the culprit if the machine jammed with coin in slot and ejector kept hitting it. You'll find numerous possibilities, but it will be something along those lines.

That's because we weren't there when it happened.

What we do know, though, is that there's no mint process which could result in something like this happening. Having eliminated that possibility, it could only be something postmint. Any specific explanation of why, except in cases where - for instance - we know that a counting machine creates such damage, are pure speculation.

Thanks, I was not sure if there was any minting process that could cause this so that clears everything up for me.

It is PSD. It could have been as easy as placing the coin on the side walk and someone put their foot on it and spun around? Just PSD. spendable
