So, last week I showed this one to the guy at my local coin club who specializes in errors. He was fairly adamant that this one is a weak strike not Struck Through Grease (also gave me a five minute spiel as to why I should never again refer to them as die adjustment strikes, lol.) How can I differentiate between a severely Grease Filled Die and a weak strike error?

I am no pro but as far as I know, the die is conicle so a weak strike would leave the center very weakly struck. Also,on a weak strike the rims would be less " strong".
Maybe we need Mike's input on this.

Here is a low pressure strike:

Note the rims are not formed, minor impression on the center of the coin.

Note on the blockage of grease, the rim is formed, but the devices are weak because of the prevention of the grease on the die.
