How many do you see? None are complete. A bag mark tagged about all of them in the center.
Looks like a SMS nickel.

I agree it looks like a SMS with a bit of cameo going on which would make it a keeper in my collection.
Even if it has been out in circulation briefly, the cameo makes it a special coin.

So this isn't considered full steps ? They all actually have to be without bag marks? I thought it was wear that counted against them . Thank you coop for the clarification. T-bop it's already in a 2x2 and staying with me.

I checked the PCGS site for examples, but they all look like rejects to me that were certified as the real thing. So I gave up looking for these a long time ago. Bell lines another waste of time to me. The "Full Split Bands" are the only ones I check for.

I'll be looking for those tomorrow coop. I purchased 100 mercs for quite a bit less than melt price. I haven't gone through them yet. I also picked up all of these today for face. Which includes 4 silver half dollars and one silver Ike and a silver bicentennial quarter .

I wouldn't consider it FS. Even without the bag marks/dings, some of them seem to blend together in certain areas with no separation line.

I also agree it looks like an SMS with light cameo. Excellent change find!

Thanks conder101. I guess that's why they are so scarce even when the nickel is in good shape the steps aren't .

Based on that pic alone, I don't think it's even close.
