Hi. Pretty New need help. I have a 1967 Kennedy I can't find much except it should weigh 11.3-11.5 grams. Mine is 12.3 grams and has several Cuds or medal pieces and a Huge die crack threw the head. Is this accent hair on this coin? Also very odd color

Accented Hair was only on the 1964 PROOF Kennedy half dollar.

*Production was stopped almost immediately after Mrs. Kennedy objected to the accented hair.*

The weight of your coin is significant in that at 12.3 Grams it is closer to a 90% Silver Half than the 40% Silver Half.

I don't know if that is possible from 1967 or not.

I'm sure the weight experts can help you more than I can.

Good Luck!

Die cracks, Cuds, mint marks and die breaks do not add any weight to a coin. The same amount of metal comes out after the strike. The weight is just re-arranged.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. How or what program do I need to add text and circle errors. The 12.3 wt. is that significant? How do I get values or price of error coins?

Here is just one source of info.

Yes- if your coin weighs 12.3G that is over tolerance for a 1967 40% Silver JFK Half.

See Chase007's chart that he posted for you.

Scale with weight? What should I do? Send to grade? Suggestions? How or when should you grade?

Notice on the second image, the crack is a scratch on the coin. Not a die crack.
