Hey all, I was thinking about buying this coin for its obverse which I like. However, the reverse has some strange color pattern. Does anyone know what that is from? Also, How would you grade it?

I believe that is natural copper patina developing, but let the others have their say as well. Looks to be uncirculated like the rest of your menagerie.

Still a nice one MS64RB maybe an RD, but the black area between the stalks and a carbon spot, plus whatever is behind neck shows more than a patina.

Beautiful; looks like natural toning on the reverse to me. MS64RB.

MS64, I agree with Crazy and would turn this down because of the area behind the head. It's going to tone hard dark colors for sure on that area just how long that's the question. The back is a goner. It's tone city for that sucker. I've had some of my coins for over 45 years so I'm always concerned about long term effects. If your buying because of the Obverse then I hope this helps.

To be honest, neither pic shows the lower right quadrant very well from a lighting standpoint. But from what the upper left reverse suggests, this is fading slightly and no longer RD.

Looks like Tiny scratches on every letter on the reverse and the field left of the C - I can just think, cleaned, retoned - I wouldn't buy it
