I was just going through a few rolls of 95s looking for the DDO, I found this one with a skinny "I". Is this just a severe example of a polished die?

Or more likely a Grease Fill, die face was wiped off pushing some crap in the hole, ya gotta remember, dies are reversed image so the raised elements you see are incused on dies.

Not a Struck Through Grease issue. remember when the die gets filled with a little grease. The devices get wider.

The reduced size devices happen because of being over polished and the field being reduced, making the devices smaller:

Uneven polishing (more isolated on one area) reduces the devices more. Leaving them distorted. On the 'I' on LIBERTY the same thing happened there as well. Field reduction. Note the east tip of the bottom of the 'L' how it tapers to thinner.

When the devices are wider like that last image on 'IN', they they are a lot shorter in height because of the Grease Fill.
