Going through some proof sets earlier today, I realized I've got a couple of proof coins with die rotation. The most severe is a little bit over 20 degrees counter clockwise on a 79 nickel (type 2 "s"). Is that severe enough to add value?

It has to be 90 degrees or more to be considered collectable. 20 degrees isn't enough to be collectable. On proofs, I am not sure if the same standards would apply for Rotated Dies.

On a business strike, I agree with E&V that you would only see a premium if it were 90° or more.

I'm not sure about proofs since they're held to stricter standards of quality.

The eBayers are like carp on bread when it comes to a 30° rotation - just can't quit your day job!

I feel the 45 degree and above would be a good indicator. How much is 45 degrees?

If you have a 2X2, you would draw a line from one corner to the corner farthest away. Then you would have it.
Rest in Peace

PS, it can be rotated either CW or CCW (so make a red X) either direction for 45°, 90 is left/right, 180° is top/bottom.
