Yeah, I can't see anything through the gunk and 2x2. All I know is that there isn't a '41-S/D listed.

Quote: copper coins does not work for me It doesn't for me either and never has, for some reason. With the new pics, it really does look like an RPM (or possibly a rotated OMM) but, not one that I can find. Maybe an editor of one of those sites could take a closer look? Wexler doesn't have it listed, either.

A little soak in pure acetone might loosen up the gunk that is hiding the mint mark.

None listed that year for an OMM. http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20L...intmarks.htmProbably just another damaged punch issue. It just looks like a large 'S' mint mark to me. From what I can see. There are a couple of RPMs with a similar center bar like yours, but the area to the West and NW show the upper parts of a RPM on them. CONECA: http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20L...1SRPM012.htm RPM-012 Wexler die varieties site: Wexler WRPM-010 and 013: http://doubleddie.com/843097.htmlCoppercoins lists one like yours and compares it to CONECA 012, but the CONECA one has a west showing on it. Quote: 1941S-1MM-012 | S/S SOUTH CONECA: RPM-012 | Crawford: unknown Wexler: unknown | FS#: unlisted. Large mintmark. A small part of a secondary mint mark can be seen under the middle portion of the primary mint mark. But looking at several of the RPM listings, that might be part of a damaged mint mark punch on the center also. Just noticed the image was not your coin, but Butch's coin: Crazyb0: (The large mint mark on the last image you posted) So keep it safe now. The CONECA site wants a better example as well as Wexlers site. But they a looking for examples with the NW or West marks on them. (yours doesn't show either)
