.......for $32.01 shipped, I'll take it. One recently sold in a PCGS holder for almost $500. Might be worth a shot at a cross.

I don't blame you, I would have done just that as well.

So did you pick it up?

Hopefully they'll do the only pay if it crosses special again for the next quarterly special, would definitely be worth a shot if that ever comes back.

Yes, and quite a bit under my max bid.

That would be great. Where do you see those specials? My PCGS membership is current.

Ed , did you notice anything different with his nose in the first photo of coin in slab . It's a turned up nose ,a lot different than many other pics of Kennedy halves . Or are my eyes playing tricks on me .

Hmm. A couple of questions of a rather broad nature come to me: First, should the seller have hyped the coin more? If what is shown at the link is all that was posted, it assumes that a lot of people are on the lookout for a coin which is distinctive for reasons not necessarily known to the entry-level collector. (Side note to self: watch for such items in future.) Second, and I realize this is a larger question that has been addressed to a degree, but I'm always curious why ANACS values are so depressed compared to the other two biggies. As I understand it, their grading is not deficient, nor their service. Anybody old enough to remember VHS and Betamax? Is ANACS getting the Betamax treatment, i.e., that's the way it is, and it will probably stay that way even if irrational?

Maybe that would have some. Also, a coin like this has a small following in the collector world, so it will have to be re-sold to the "right" person, which might take a while.

For the average coin, ANACS can hold their own. But you're right, ANACS is a bit of a redheaded stepchild. The problem arises when you get to the top pop coins, in the 66, 67, 68, 69 grade range. Either ANACS falls a bit short, or collectors like to see top pop coins in top tier holders.

If you go to their home page and scroll to the bottom under the Customer Service Column on the left the Quarterly Special tab. Right now its 20 coins where you get an upgrade to the secure service for free so 5 dollars off each coin. That one ends at the end of the year. This one and the crossover one seem to be the ones that get the most positive response from customers, I hope they keep doing both.
