Hi everyone, I know very little about Indian punch mark coins minted ca. 300-100BCE. But I do know that those with three human figures are particularly scarce. I have found a nice example available from a dealer, but I do have some questions before buying:
1. Are these coins commonly forged nowadays? I would think that they are very esoteric, not exceedingly rare, and off the radar for most counterfeiters.

2. About how much would this example go for? Would $30 shipped be too high?

Here are the dealer's photos:

The coin appears genuine. The three figures are not really uncommon, what is uncommon about this coin is that there are usually 5 punch marks on the obverse and one on the reverse. This has three and three. The three oblong figures (bundles) usually indicated that it was made at the Taxila mint.

echizento - Wonderful info! I appreciate the help. So does the $30 price tag seem outrageous for a piece of this ilk? I actually have a number of other punch mark coins with more common symbols - wheels, 3 hills, etc - about 10 years ago for about $5-$8 a piece. But I do know that these have gone up a bit in price since then.
