I've had a lot of mixed luck recently purchasing coins online. Does anyone have an online source that has consistently been good? Are there any I should avoid?

What type of coins:
-- Country?
-- Issue/Series?
-- Quality?
Stuff like that.

Here are some from another thread I once saw. I bookmarked the links, but don't have the actual thread.

ebay - some love it/some hate it
alaskan coin exchange - good pictures for most coins and I've found the pricing to be reasonable, maybe a little high but I trust this seller
coastcoin.com
northeastcoin.com
Jakes Market Place - easy to use and pretty large selection. I put my holiday wish list with links to Jake's since it's easy for relatives to use
coinland.com
coinsonline.com

I haven't used any that I also didn't comment on. Hopefully this helps.

Kanga, I predominately coin roll hunt through both circulated and uncirculated U.S. PENNIES (hehe), but I also buy U.S. proof sets or silver coins when I find good deals.

Probably a better place to buy is at a local coin show. You will be able to look at them in your hand. You will save on shipping. Also you will be able to see what type of vendor you are dealing with. Note what has has in stock. Note if he is searching for varieties. (don't ask him, judge by what he is selling. If he is into varieties, try another table to see what they are selling. Later on after you've checked everyone else out, go back to the variety collectors to see what they have. Look for the rolls first. Most of the time they are limited to what is on hand. Ask if you don't see them. Maybe make an arrangement for them to bring more to the next coin show. Play it by ear. Get to know your vendors and they will get to know you. If they ask questions, then you will find out how much they know about coins. Share information. Most vendors are just selling coins and not varieties. But rolls you can get from them and if you find stuff that is good in them (OBW rolls) then buy more the next show. But rolls in tubes to see what they are putting in them. Find nothing great, pass on them the next time around. That is what I would do instead of buying on line.

Good advice. Shows are a wonderful place to learn as well as buy.

I find myself buying from "https://www.mintproducts.com/" every now and then. Great to deal with and easy returns/refunds if you are not happy. For silver coins and bullion I like MCM (Modern Coin Mart), and AYDIN Coins and Jewelry - http://www.aydincoins.com/ - Aydin may not be the cheapest but I have never got a milk spotted coin from them!
