I found this interesting beauty but cannot find anything online similar. It has some foreign lettering but I cannot make it out to search it. Does anyone know where this coin was minted, if it's even a real coin? It doesn't even have a date on it.

@Dawnie3316, first welcome to CCF. Second, I have recommended to the mods that your post be moved over to the ancients section of CCF as this piece looks like it is supposed to be a tetradrachm of Alexander the Great. I have serious concerns about the authenticity of yours though (e.g. that extra, melted-looking metal at 12 o'clock on the obverse). It will be interesting to get more eyes on this.

Tetradrachm of Lysimachus, one of Alexander's bodyguards who went on to rule a sizeable portion of the former empire. One of the most beautiful and popular coins of antiquity, so therefore the most attractive to forgers. This would normally be a $100-150 coin, so without a paper trail, I would assume it to be fake until proven otherwise. It does look porous like it was cast.

I think cast in silver; color looks good.
It could be silver plated, but I don't think so.
Rough surface in low areas between details.

What is the weight?

If in hand, the first thing I would look for is evidence of a casting sprue on the edge somewhere, and how smooth the rest of the edge happens to be.

Thanks for the good quality pictures.
Rest in Peace

A little better quality copy than is often encountered. I agree that it does look like silver, at least.
