Hey all, How do you feel about this 1875 California Fractional Dollar? Not my area of expertise so would appreciate any info. Thanks! Edited by pattiewhack 12/09/2017 12:48 am

None of the image hosts I can find appear to be "approved" by this site and (though my images are each under 300kb) they won't upload directly to the site either... *facepalm*

Just upload it directly. There's no need for a third party photosharing widget to be involved.
When you create a post, click on 'upload image' under the text window and directly upload the image from your computer. Just make sure it's under 300kb.

Whenever I try to upload it says "your image must be under 300kb" although my images are under 300kb... see below

I'm assuming you downloaded them after optimizing and are trying to upload the optimized images to the post and not the original files?

I can see the images but to be honest I am not impressed with what I see.
Its not that I know much about this particular coin type but I don't like the different colours of metal that can be seen on the face (almost like gilding has worn off the high points) nor do I like the uneveness of the edges. For those reasons I would have been suspicious of buying such a coin.
I will leave it to those who know more than I to pass judgement on authenticity.

It's worth enough to send in to a grading service. You need authentication.

Agree it needs authentication. Looks similar to BG-1127, but the size and position of the stars are not exactly right, so I am suspicious that it's not genuine.

Looks like a LEE 24b, although maybe a copy due to wear points are a different color. Possibly plated.
