Not sure why those dates other than the 1972 has a high dollar doubled die associated with them the 63 and 64 has some minor doublings and repunched mintmarks, not worth much there.. Those family birth year perhaps? The 1937-D Buffalo has a very valuable error called the three-legged variety to check for. For the cents, they are copper so some folks save for that reason, but as for value, is worth a penny!

Research the 1972 cent doubled die obverse and check for that. Also research the 1937-D 3-legged Buffalo nickel and check for that.

Don't clean anything! If you find one of those rarities, an improper cleaning attempt will destroy value.

Happy hunting!

fellow Michigander to CCF. Do not clean them and yes keep them for sentimental value. Post a few pics of the better ones and the ones you may question.

First welcome to CCF. Second, as the others have said, don't clean your coins. Ever.

Unless there is a rare variety, the circulated cents are all worth face value. Keep them if you want them for sentimental value. The Buffalo nickels have numismatic value above face. Just don't clean them. Ever.

As you have already read, don't clean coins. Sort of like just trying to keep originality. Cleaning, sometimes damages coins by removing material.
