This does seem more like a lamination than strike through (especially the region between the C of CENT and N of UNITED), but might be PMD instead. I'm stumped by this one and will wait for others who are smarter than me to weigh in.

Hmmm, my first thought after seeing it was lamination. But after looking closer, that line going up through the wheat lines makes me think it might be some type of hit PMD.

It is a lamination error.
If it were a scratch or other damage, the letters, specifically the N of United" would show movement.
A struck through error would look different as it crossed the devices.
Rest in Peace

Planchet flaw prestrike lamination. Strike was strong enough to fill out details since wasn't that much material missing.

The weakness seen on the 'A' that looks like damage is from a lamination peel. Because it is uneven in thickness, is from the lamination varying in thickness.

Thanks to all of you for your input, I'll mark it a lamination peel.

LoL!! Yes, I was just thinking the same thing. How many tests did I fail in school because I didn't go with my first answer.
