@vanessaspgee, it looks to me like you have a die chip on the top of that letter B in LIBERTY. I don't know that it adds a premium to the value of this coin, but is an interesting find nonetheless. There is a pretty well known die chip that forms on the right side of the letter B, effectively turning that word into LIBIERTY. There are a ton of posts here on CCF where you can see other examples of this--just use the search function in the upper left hand part of your screen and the keyword BIE. Also, as you start to develop more of an interest in these errors, you may find the web site cuds-on-coins interesting.

Is that area below, even, or above the rest of the letter B?

to me it looks like the top of the B took a hit causing part of it to recess and spread a little. Not an error, just damage. There is probably not a way to determine if it was caused at the mint, but most likely its just PMD.

That is a great point that @fuzzy made--it could be just damage to the letter from a hit. Maybe I'm seeing an error where one doesn't exist. A close-up photo with a little sharper focus would help us to determine what you've got.
