I have heard of these but not sure what determines this classification. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It looks more pronounced on the reverse than on the front.

Not a woody they are called roller lines.

Most likely a stained planchet...rollers of the stock plate had dirty grease(?) And caused that as blanks were being cut.

On a woody, the wood grain is in the planchette. On rolling lines, they are on the planchette. With circulation, they tend to wear off these cents. On a woody, they don't wear off because they are from a poor copper mixture.
