Not sure what that is on the side of the face, damage it seems, has a pattern to it. Now the eye area? I'm gonna say its all damage. There looks to be a hit, drew a circle around the shape, a little behind the front of the eye.

The nose and the eye look like they are going in the same direction, so I think MD. The rest looks like DDD. John1

The manor areas do appear to be the result of DDD. There are a few hits in the same area just to keep us confused

I am respectfully not in agreement with it being damage. It looks like it could be Struck Through cloth or maybe even grease mixed with grit? I am no expert by any means, but this is what I think of it.
Errers and Varietys.

Probably the areas that are altered is from grease with debris metal filings or grit mixed in the grease leaving a textured appearance. No premium for this, just sometimes we need to know what could of caused the issue.
